Merlot 2016

Our gastro hit

This has been our mainstay single variety wine from the very beginning. It is available by the glass in many Hungarian restaurants. Our Merlot is characterized by the charm, fruitiness, marked tannins and elegance that is the hallmark of the best Szekszárd wines.

It is made from a 3 ha parcel that is part of our “Bati kereszt” single vineyard supplemented with the grapes of some smaller parcels. Yield is 2 kg/stock. Fermented mainly in stainless steel tanks at a max. temperature of 26-28 °C, and partly in wooden vessels. After the malolactic fermentation it was aged in 1000- and 5000-liter-big casks for 10 months. Bottled in two steps during 2017, in order to keep its freshness.
