Our only white wine is made of 100% Viognier. This French variety offers delicious and fragrant wines with hints of exotic fruits, lime, peach and pears.
The 10-year-old Viognier vineyard is part of our Bati kereszt single vineyard and is adjacent to a forest. Yields 1,5 kg per vine. Two separate manual harvests in order to have ripe, but not overripe grapes at all. Viognier berries are typically fleshy and yield relatively little juice.
After the harvest middle of September, 2/3 of the must was fermented under controlled temperature, with selected yeast in inox tanks, while 1/3 was put in first filled oval foudre made by Kádár Hungary. A cuvée of the two distinctly different lots was done in April 2018 followed by the bottling under screwcap.
