HEIMANN Barbár 2019
Szekszárd
This is our flagship wine, our most well-known label.
We still use the first vines we planted for *Barbár*, located on the Porkoláb Valley ridge: Cabernet Franc and Merlot. These are Bordeaux clones with very fine, small-berried clusters and exceptional flavor richness. Additionally, we introduced a variety called Tannat, originating from the Basque Country, which brings strong tannins and acidity, making *Barbár* age-worthy and giving it extra structure. In 2006, my mother decided to add Kékfrankos to *Barbár*, which lightens and adds vibrancy to the wine.

The blend consists of 43% Cabernet Franc, 20% Kékfrankos, 19% Merlot, and 18% Tannat. The 2019 vintage was a beautiful, warm year, producing wines rich in flavor.

Thanks to the warm early spring and dry summer months, the grapes ripened quickly. Our 2019 wines beautifully express the ripe, easy-to-love character typical of Szekszárd. Beyond that, they show a clean, fresh vibrancy, which we feel is a trademark of our wines. We see 2019 as a peak vintage, both in quantity and quality.
